Nine Months

Jacob is now 9 months! Where has the time gone!? He had his nine month doctor's visit yesterday. He is 22 pounds 13.5 ounce (almost 2 pounds more than James at this age) and 30 inches tall (an inch shorter than James was). His head is still in the 99th + percentile. Here are some of his favorite things.

Food especially pears, graham crackers, sweet potatoes, all kinds of meat and anything Mom or Dad is eating

He also has five teeth, two on bottom and three on top. He says "mum mum mum mum mum" when he is sad or hungry and wants Mom. He can get where ever he wants by rolling and army crawling.

Welcoming New Interns

On June 16th, we went to a party to welcome the new Pediatric Interns and to say goodbye to those who are graduating and leaving. It was nice that this year was not as hot and humid as last years party, and I was not 7 months pregnant either.  James had a lot of fun on this blow up toy.

He also had fun on another slide which I did not get a picture of. This is Jacob trying to stay hydrated.

He shot balls in the swimming pool and other people upon request.

Jacob also loved the little swimming pool, even though the water was freezing.

Another Frog

James was playing on his slide one evening.  He started talking about a frog. Then I saw it on the edge of the slide.

It later moved up into the house at the top of the slide.

Meijer Gardens

On June 11, we enjoyed some time at Meijer Gardens.  It was lot of fun to get outside.  James had a blast.  Here we are in the hedge maze.

We like Meijer Gardens a lot. It will take the place of the Toledo Zoo, though we still miss the Toledo Zoo a lot!

Alpine Estates Park

For play group a few weeks ago, we went to Alpine Estates Park.  The kids had lots of fun.  James telling Braden about the bigger slides as they head that direction.

Play group has been lots of fun for James.  He is making lots of friends, but some have now moved away, and we will miss them.

Rollie Pollie

No not potato bugs.  This is a nick name I have given Jacob because his specific mode of transportation these days. Everytime I call Jacob, Rollie Pollie, James informs me that his name in Jacob.  It's really funny.  One day, I went up stairs for a minute to get some random thing.  When I was headed back down stairs I found this.

As I was taking pictures, he started to try to climb the stairs.

He did not get farther than putting one hand on the bottom step, but he is going to be scaling those stairs soon.

The Rest of May

I am so far behind on blogging for three reasons.  Two of them are named James and Jacob.  The minute I sit at the computer, they are at my feet whining to sit on my lap and push buttons.  The third reason is that our internet has been very flaky.  It only works occasionally. Actually as I type this it is in Word, while I watch for the internet to start working again.  So I decided if I was going to catch up I better just get the rest of my May pictures up in one post. After this post are two posts with videos of Jacob trying to play with the train tracks. This is the picture of Jacob playing with the trains.

James loves to go into Jacob’s room when he wakes up to make Jacob laugh, or as he says, “Laugh Jacob.”

I went up stairs one day to get James from his nap and found him on the floor.

Some days he is also in his closet.  The first time, I was shocked, because he was not in his room.  I could not think how or when he came out of his room.  Then he opened the door of his closet.  Now I know that is where he is when I cannot see him.

Jacob was trying to drive a train on the train tracks, until I got the camera out., but these are cute videos of his reaction to the camera.

At the end of this video, he almost starts to drive the train again.
