Water

James has discovered rolling water bottles on the floor. He loves it! He pulled out some bottles from the case, and it entertains him for quite a long time. Here is a little video of him rolling the water bottles.

Third Hand

James has discovered that he can carry more around if he puts something in his mouth too. 

The funny thing is when you offer his food and his hands are full, he puts one toy in his mouth to free his hand.  Then he will grab the food, and look at it.  Finally he drops what is in his mouth so he can eat.  It is really funny!  I have been trying to get it on camera, but have not been successful yet.

Bite. Bite. Bite.

James has been biting a little recently. He is getting in some pretty big teeth. He chews on everything, but I have to say no when he started on Mommy and Daddy's knees.

He will still lick our knees, but I think he knows not to bite us now. Here is the look I get before he goes for my knee.

He is a smart kid, and I am surprised at the things he understands. Here he was chewing on the arm of the rocking chair.

Toledo, Ohio

Yesterday, we got to go to our own ward conference. It was nice to be in our own ward. Jon even took James during conference so I could hear the talks! President Smith's talk was really good. He talked about the spiritual battle we all face every day, and that we need to "fear not" and "be of good cheer" for Christ is with us. At the very beginning of his talk he said the more he speaks the harder he gets, because the more nervous he gets. I was surprised by that because I would think it would get easier the more you do it. I guess not.

James did tons better during Young Women's this week too. He had a little more room to play, so I think that helped. Then he actually fell asleep! It was toward the end, but he has missed his morning nap on Sundays for a long time. It was nice that he slept a little.

Drama, Drama, Drama

Saturday night, Jon stayed home with James while I went to a chaperon Stake Youth Dance in Bowling Green. I have to say I am really glad I am not a teenager anymore. So much drama! I do not want to get into too many details, but I will say there was crying, inappropriate behavior, mothers upset, and leader intervention. I did enjoy a line dance, and most of the youth seemed to have a good time.

There was also a planning meeting for youth conference before the dance. It seemed to go really well. We are going to go to Kirtland in June. It should be lots of fun! The youth also tried to convince me that I need to get on Facebook to communicate with them, because they never check their email.

Cars

James still loves the Disney movies Cars. He also loves to stand at the TV stand and play with the TV buttons. Here is a video of him getting excited about seeing Lightening McQueen on the TV.

Turkey

I cooked my first turkey last weekend.  It turned out really tasty.  I cooked it with two lemons and a grapefruit stuffed in side. 

My favorite part was the gravy.  There were some really good drippings, and I did not have to season it at all.  Thanks, Deweys, for letting us have the turkey out of your freezer!

Kitchen Towels

James loves to get in this drawer and take out the towels.

Table

James broke his first glass. He has been standing and walking around the table.

He grabbed the tablecloth and pulled it off. There was a glass on it that shattered against the wall. I think he was a little surprised.

He does like to stand under the table, but he does not really fit.

He is too tall.

Fremont, Ohio

Yesterday, we started back into Unit Conferences for our Stake. It was a nice two-month break, but it was bound to end some time. The first one for the year was the Fremont Branch Conference. The conference went well. I wish I could say something about the talks or lesson, but James has reached that age where I wonder why I go to church, because I feel I am not getting anything out of it. FOUR months until nursery! I hope he is able to handle going to nurseries all over the Stake.

Anyway, it was a rough meeting. Jon did take James for part of sacrament meeting, but then I heard James crying in the hall. I ended up needing to go out to our car to get James some milk since I accidentally left it there (in a small cooler we brought). At the beginning of the second part of conference, the Young Men and Young Women were combined and there were a lot of people in that small room. I had to take James to the hall during President Smiths talk to the youth. James just will not hold still and there was not room to move. Plus he was so tired and would not fall asleep. I did get to hear the Young Women's Lesson since there was lots of room after we split and James could move around in the classroom.

The Young Women's Lesson was on Personal Progress and all the recent changes. It was good to hear about all the changes. I did not know before that there were that many changes with the new book. Maybe it is time to get the New Era (there was stuff in the January one about the new Personal Progress Program), if only for our youth callings.

Thank you, Sister Rackley, for the calculator.  James loves it and it did help for a while.

James slept the whole way home.  Jon and I decided to take the longer way, so James would sleep longer, and Jon would know the road since he will be doing a rotation out that way in March.  The turnpike is faster, but there is a toll, so he wanted to see how the other way would be.

R U LDS 2?

My mom sent me this poem in an email and it made me laugh.  I actually try not to use these abbreviations as much as possible (I write it out most of the time).  It just bothers me sometimes that members of our church use all these and sometimes people have no idea what they are talking about.  

Anyway, you might be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints if you understand what this is talking about.

My son's a CTR... I go to PEC.
I work for CES... I study the TG.
I read the B of M... I probe the D&C.
I search the KJV... I ponder the JST.
Today in BYC... we planned for EFY.
I stayed a little after... and had a PPI.
The YM and YW... are putting on a play.
It's one that I remember... we did in MIA.
Before our oldest son ... went in the MTC,
He helped the BSA... complete their SME.
Soon our oldest daughter... is heading for the Y..
Soon our oldest clothing... is going to the DI.
