Thomas Jefferson Memorial

While at the Jefferson Memorial, we also saw "Marine One" (three of the four anyway). Here is one of the pictures I took.

Korean War Veterans Memorial

I loved the wall here. I know it is kind of a copy of the wall at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, but I love the etchings of the faces. It was really cool!

Lincoln Memorial

Looking up the stairs. Looking toward the Washington Monument from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Sadly, the elevator was broken, so James couldn't get to the top in his stroller. Here is Jon waiting with James while I went up the stairs. Here I am waiting with James while Jon took a turn. James was still happy as can be as long as he had his feet.

Signers of the Declaration of Independence

This was one of my favorite memorials, because it was simple and beautiful. There were also no people there when we stopped, which is a plus for me. I do not like to be around a lot of people, but I survive.

White House

This is as closest to the White House that we were. The pictures turned out pretty good through the fence. Some day I would like to tour the White House, but that is getting hard to do, so this will have to do for now. We also saw a motorcade. There were no flags in the limo (not the President), but with four suburbans, two of which the backs were open and had guys with machine guns "hanging" out, it must have been someone important. You can see the back open on the suburban in this picture.

World War II Memorial

The World War II Memorial was really impressive. It is newer than the others, and one that Jon really wanted to see. Here is a slide show of the pictures we took.

Washigton Monument

James and Becca

James made a new friend while we were in D.C. He and Becca were so cute together. James would get really concerned if Becca was crying or yelling, and if we did not do anything to help her, he would start to cry too. Here is their first meeting. Playing while Bacca's parents and Jon were busy moving. Waiting to god to church. If Becca was ever close enough to James, she would grab his arm or hug him and pull him or herself closer. Watching Little Einstiens. Feet in the air.

Smithsonian and Stuff

Here are some random pictures of some buildings I took, because the buildings looked cool or we want to visit them someday. We wanted to visit the National Archives, but there was not time on the day we were going to do it. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Money). The Department of Agriculture (the one with the "bridge"). Smithsonian Castle. Another of the Smithsonian Buildings (I cannot remember which). The D.C. War Memorial.
