Gooffy

Sometimes James does the goofiest things.  Here he was putting on mommy's hat (it is really just a head band).  He insisted on his ears poking out like this

and would get mad if I tried to fix it.

Bucket Head:

-a name James has claimed by always wearing a bucket on his head. 

He has even taught others to do it as well.  His friend Robby does it now, and I have even seen the kids in nursery doing it recently.  What a great influence my son is on others!

End of February

I thought I would finish off the month of February by getting the rest of the pictures I took of James in January.  Some day, I might get better at blogging, but I do not see that happening in the near future.

Excuse the cheesy grin.  Every time James sees the camera, he says "CHEESE!"  I know it is my fault, because that is what I would always say when I would pull the camera out.  I am now learning to say "Smile!" instead, but I think James is stuck with "CHEESE!"  Oh well.

James loves to put buckets on his head and calls them hats.  Here he also found my slippers.  He loves to wear them around the house.

Table

Recently, James has been loving sitting at the table.  Here he is playing at the table with Woody and Buzz.

Another Trip to the Zoo

Last week, when we were having such warm weather, James and I enjoyed some time out side.  We went to the zoo one day and walked at the park another.  Here are a few pictures from the zoo.  The giraffes were fun.

Must have been hungry.  The eagles are always sitting in the same tree in their rescue roost, but this time they were not.

Play Date

Robby came over to play earlier this week.  I am so glad these boys love to play together!  They enjoyed jumping on the couch.  They shared a snack.  They loved playing in the tent James and Grandma made (and is still up). 

They just had fun together.

Valentine's Day

We had a pretty low key Valentine's Day.  Jon had to go back to work after having two weeks off (not his choice to have the time off, but it turned out okay).  We had Raclette for dinner.  We still had some cheese left over from Christmas and since it was packaged well and it is cheese it was still good until April.  We love Raclette and it was fun for a night at home.  After we put James to bed, Jon and I played golf a few rounds of golf on the Wii.  Not super romantic, but it was a nice relaxing night at home.

Visit From Grandma

We really enjoyed having Grammy Felt come visit us.  James loved having someone to play with all the time.  We mostly hung out at our apartment, but that does not mean there was no fun to be had.  James loved playing monsters with Grandma and hiding in the "cave." 

We build a tent out of our two card tables (in the picture there is only one card table, but I pulled out the other one a little bit later) and two blankets.

James was sad to see Grandma go home.  When we SKYPEd with her a little bit later, James kept trying to grab her video on the computer.  He wanted her to come play again.  We are excited for June when both Grandmas will be here!

Zoo

We go to the zoo a lot. It is great to have a pass, so we can go all the time and not feel like we have to see everything when we are there.

While Grammy Felt was here, we met up with Maria, Jenni, and Robby and enjoyed some time at the zoo. These two boys love to play together, but it was really hard to get a picture of both of them together. James still loves to push buttons. Looking at the numbers on the wall. In Nature's Neighborhood there is a secret tunnel behind one of the bookcases through a log into another room. Robby climbed right through. James was scared to go through, so Maria went with him. He was still nervous. There are three doors on this tree. James enjoys opening all of them and leaving them that way. If he notices that someone closed them he will go back and open them again.

We love the Toledo Zoo. It is one of the things we will really miss when we move in June. Hopefully where ever we go has a great zoo too.

Strong or Scary?

James was squeezing his hands and grunting to show how strong he was and to scary everyone.  Jon said he looks constipated, but I think it is really funny.

He is getting good at using his imagination.  He loves to be a dinosaur or a monster, and scare us.

Level 3 Snow Emergency

Yesterday, we had a level 3 snow emergency, which means you are not allowed to drive on the roads, and if you do and you get stuck/caught, you get a ticket. Emergency personnel are allowed on the roads, but that is all. When the sun came out, we decided to clean off our cars. we had a bad experience the first year we lived here, when it snowed a lot and we did not drive for a while, then we tried to clean off our car and it was a solid chunk of ice. We now try to clean off our cars shortly after a storm.

While Jon cleaned off the cars, James and I played in the snow. James loved it! He threw snowballs to his hearts content. Here he is making hand prints in the snow. He thought it was really funny. We made a snowman, but our first few attempts did not work out. The snow on top was great packing snow, but the snow closer to the ground was not, so we could not roll a snowball to make it bigger. Jon just kept packing snow on to make it bigger. James and I found sticks for arms, eyes, and buttons. I also found a piece of bark for a nose and a leaf for hair. The leaf blew off so the snowman lost his hair. Oh well.

2 Years Old

James turned two back in November. We had our friend Jenni take some pictures of him.

It was harder to get good pictures of him, but we tried.

James also had his two year well visit the end of December. He was 29 pounds still (about 50th percentile), 3 feet tall (95th percentile), and his head is still above the charts.

James is a fun two-year-old most of the time.

He is good at throwing fits.

He is also talking much more and some of the time I understand him.

He has a great imagination and can entertain himself with toys and books for hours, normally sitting at mom's feet.
