More Teeth

Jon and I noticed today during Sacrament Meeting that James has four teeth just coming through on the top of his mouth. So he now has SIX teeth! There are two more coming on the bottom too. This is a picture of him sitting on the couch peaking over the arm at me. You can see those bottom teeth really well. I will get a picture of the other teeth when they are more easily seen.

Activity Book

I have been working on this activity book for at least a year. I finally finished four of the eleven pages. James loves them. Recently, he has been trying to get the pictures out of his books. Now he can, and I can throw it in the wash if it gets too dirty. Here are pictures of the pages I have finished. Front cover. A, the apple opens to show the core. B and F, the balloons are snapped on, and there will be a flower to go on the giant button. G and O, the girl's hair can be braided or not, and the owl snaps on. P, a ribbon to tie at the tail.

FHE on the Swings

A few weeks ago we went out to the playground for the activity of our Family Home Evening. James enjoyed himself as you can see here on this video.

Baptism and a New Car Seat

Last night, we went to a baptism for a doctor whose family has been members for a long time. He has even been going to church, stake conference, seminary graduations, etc. for a long time. Jon and I wonder what was it that made the difference after all this time. It was really awesome to witness the son, who just graduated, baptize his father. All the children participated with talks on Baptism and the Holy Ghost, prayers, leading the music, and the actual baptism. I am glad we were able to be there.

Here is a picture of James (for those who follow this blog to see James). He recently had to get a bigger car seat. He loves it! He can see out better, and Mom and Dad have to carry him directly now. This car seat will be able to be turned the other way when he turns one.

Pandemic

Jon and I were introduced to a new game recently. It is called Pandemic. We enjoyed it a lot. basically all the players work together to cure the world of different diseases before they become outbreaks and take over the world. The game is over either when you cure all the diseases, or there is a pandemic. We will probably be getting this game for Christmas. I recommend it.

Make It Spin

James loves the saucer. He could play in it for hours. Here he is enjoying the attached toys. He spins this ball a lot of the time. He does play with the other things as well, but I think this is the most fun to watch.

Chicken with 20 Cloves of Garlic

Jon and I have tried this recipe a few times now. I have made a few changes to it. If you do not like fresh garlic, this is not a dinner for you. I found it from Kraft Foods, if you would like the original recipe.

Chicken with 20 Cloves of Garlic

Ingredients:

1 chicken breast, cut into bite size pieces
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
20 cloves of garlic, each cut in fourths
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup Caesar Dressing
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
2 cups of rice (uncooked 2 cups), cooked

Heat oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Add garlic; cook for 2 minutes, stirring regularly. Add chicken; cook 3 more minutes and keep stirring to cook chicken evenly.

Stir in broth and dressing; cover with a lid. Cook 6 minutes (or until chicken is fully cooked), stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle with cheese. Remove from heat. Let stand, covered, 1 minute. Stir in rice.

First Word: Daddy

James has been babbling all the time. Mostly it sounds like, "dadadadadadadadada." Sometimes there are other sounds thrown in there, too. The other morning, he looked at Jon and said, "Dadda." Then, he waved bye to Jon as he left for school. It was really cute. So his first word is daddy!

I have been trying to get his talking recorded, but every time I pull out the camera he gets really excited and then will not do it anymore. I did get a little of the talking. The first movie is short and he is talking a little at the beginning.

This one he talks a little toward the end. He also growls and jumps some. Jumping in the saucer is something he has started doing recently.

Sitting

James is pretty much sitting on his own now. He still wobbles a little (falling over in this picture), but he can pull himself up to sitting when he is reclining on my lap. He also love the car that is in his hand in this picture.

Trying to Crawl

James is getting close to crawling. He has the backwards scoot down really well. It will not be too much longer before he is in to everything.

IKEA

We went to IKEA yesterday. Jon had a day off of "school," so we slept in and then went to Michigan. It was a fun drive. We enjoyed IKEA. James is getting really good at sitting in the cart. He is really excited for his Christmas Present. Once we put it in the cart he would not take his hand off of it. I hope he is still excited in a few months when he opens it.

We also were able to get Panda Express for lunch. We drove the scenic way from IKEA to Panda Express and it was fun to see some of the country side in Michigan that we do not always see. It was a fun day, and James and I were glad to have daddy home.

Mushy

Here are some more pictures of James enjoying a graham cracker. Notice his hands. He actually was able to eat more of the crackers this time. He just mushed them in his hands first.

Laughing

Sorry this video is a little fuzzy, but I love this boys laugh. He is laughing at Steve Toller who is dancing where you cannot see him. Steve is really good at getting James to laugh.

New Camera

I got a new camera this last week. It is so much better than the old one. For one, the batteries last longer. They have not died yet and it has been almost four days. More pictures and movies will be coming. I was very thankful to my brother-in-law for my old camera, but it is nice to have a new one now.
