New Hat

Yesterday, James got a new hat from his Aunt Lori. (I love this face!) 

She made it for him.

Plate

Thursday night I had my first meeting with the new Stake YW Presidency.  I hope it helped.  When I got home after 9:00, James was still awake.  He would not go to bed without mommy.  He went right to bed when I put him down.  Crazy kid!

I let James eat off a plate for the first time.  He did okay for a little bit.  Then, he dumped everything in his lap.  He will learn. 

You can also see how dry James's checks have been.  I put lotion on them and they are still red and dry.

Trouble

James loves this commercial. I am not sure if he likes the music or the dog. He will stop playing and just watch the TV every time the commercial comes on.

I will sing the beginning of the song to James when he is getting into things. The part of the song about trouble, not when it gets to the worry part.

More Teething and Screaming

Last night James slept through the night! He has been cutting more teeth and has been waking up at least once a night in pain, but not last night! I have not seen the new teeth yet, but he is not as whiny either.

James has also been screaming a lot. I am not sure if it is to get my attention, or just because he likes the way it sounds. I caught a little of the screaming on this video.

Another fun story, we went grocery shopping last night. As we were doing the self check with Jon bagging and me scanning, I noticed James was being too quite. We had left him too close to the side of the aisle. He had grabbed a pack of Big Red and chewed a hole in it. When I took it away to scan it and buy it, he quickly grabbed another pack. I got it away from him before he started chewing on it and moved him before he grabbed more. He is trouble. There is a commercial he really like that has a song on it, which I sing to him when he is getting into things. I will have to see if I can find it on YouTube and post it here.

Pizza and Good Company

Monday night, we had our first reservation to go out to eat. We went to the newly opened JD's Pizza. It was a fun night. JD's was opened by an 8 year old in our ward that has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. One of the things he wanted to do was have a pizza shop, so he opened one in his home with the help of his family. Thanks for the pizza Gabe, and for letting us come into your home Wendy and David!

New Stake Young Women's Presidency, but Same Secretary

Sunday, we had a new Stake Young Women's Presidency sustained.  I get to stay with them.  I am excited to work with the new presidency, but I am sad that I will not be serving with the presidency that was just released.  One thing I have learned about serving in the church is that it is always a bittersweet thing when there are changes.  There is excitement at the new, but sadness when it comes to an end.

Cups

James loves to play with Jon's or my cup. He knows how to drink out of them, but it normally comes too fast for him. Here are a few videos of James playing with my cup.

We also got him some cups from IKEA, and he likes to play with those too.

Post Call

Jon was on post call yesterday.  After a few hours of sleep, Jon was around the rest of the day.  James was so excited to see his daddy.  He missed daddy so much. 

We went outside and played in the snow. 

Jon and James played, while I unburied the car. 

James made another snow angel. 

Then, James enjoyed his first happy meal. 

He has loved playing with the box, too.

Call

James and I survived Jon's first day of call during his surgery rotation.  James does non know yet that daddy is home and sleeping.  It will be a good surprise when Jon wakes up.  James really missed his dad yesterday and last night for sure.

James has really enjoyed playing in his room now that he can and his car stuff is in there.

Where Is James?

James still love to have a blanket over his head. He also likes the play peek-a-boo. Here is a video of him playing with a little blanket.

Let It Snow!

James and I went outside and played in the snow yesterday. 

James thought I was crazy at first. 

I helped him make his first snow angel. 

We went down to the play ground too. 

James loves to swing. 

Even when it is only 26 degrees outside.

OREO

Jon is back to school now.  He is doing his surgery rotation.  I will let him tell you about what he is doing since he knows better then I do.

James had his first Oreo.

He did make a good mess.

New Years Day (and the Weekend After)

We had a good New Years Day. We had some fondue. Jon was excited to use his new fondue pot. It was really yummy. I love cheese. We also watched some football and played a game. It was a good relaxing day.

The next day, we went to Bloomfield Hills, MI to go to the temple. Jon went to the 10:00 session, and James and I hung out at the Stake Center next door. It was a good day to travel up north. Really cold, but the sun was shining.

On our way home, we stopped at Wendy's for lunch. There was a youth group there who had just done baptisms at the temple. One of the leaders, we think a member of the bishopric, came over and talked to us for a little bit. He could tell we were members too. I think Jon's white shirt and tie gave it away, or I was also wearing one of my youth conference shirts. He was very nice. We found out that they are in the Stake just north of us (the Ann Arbor Michigan Stake). Jon and I have even been to their chapel, but not their ward (for a baby blessing).

He is getting braver. He cruises on furniture, but now he will move from one thing to another.

2010

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it is 2010! Amazingly, I have not had trouble writing 2010 when I write the date. That is a first.


On New Year's Eve, we went to the zoo with the Carters. We had lots of fun! James was not too thrilled to be in the stroller (actually he was a little tired).

He really wanted out of the stroller.

He got his wish. Here we are with the bees in Nature's Neighborhood.

Weston decided the kids needed to be show how you became a bee.

There had been some ice carving demonstrations earlier in the day. These are the finished products.

We are going home!

Yes, his car seat is crocked. We straiten it and tighten it and still we cannot get it to stay straight. We are going to have to move it to one of the sides instead of the middle.

After the zoo, we played games, and ate a Mexican junk food dinner of Taquitoes, Chruncheros, and Chimichangas with Grape and Cranberry soda to drink. Then, we went to bed fairly early.
