A Toddler's Rules of Possession

This totally describes James.  Except the last one. 

He will still play with broken and ripped toys until there is nothing left of them.

Meijer Gardens

We went to Meijer Gardens yesterday.  It was fun to get outside!  I didn't take many picture while we were outside though.  James and I were having too much fun playing.  James loves this gate.

It is just his size.  The tropical greenhouse.

James blinked.  Trying to get Mom's hand.

James still loved seeing the trains.  We saved it for the end as a way to keep James moving the rest of the time.  More pictures of the representation of Jon's work place.

That is really why we had to go back.  We had to find that hidden pickle.  James sat on Santa's sleigh this time.

I think he is a little tired.

What do you think?  It was a fun day, until we tried to leave and James through a major tantrum.  He was tired and did not want to leave.  He was happier after a nap though.

"Not Yet"

 is one of James's favorite things to say.  There have been a lot of post for Jacob recently so I decided James needs one too.  I have this random picture of him.

Not sure what he is doing, or why I took this picture but oh well.  James has become the little chatter box recently.  He is always saying things that catch me off guard because I don't know where he came up with it.  He also has a great imagination.  Jon can never follow what he is doing, but normally I can figure out the TV shows he is putting together and reenacting with his own twists.  James also just started Primary.  He is the youngest Sunbeam in his class, but he seems to be doing pretty good with it.  He does really miss nursery (who wouldn't), but he loves Sunbeams.  This picture is from nursery.

He is so handsome in his shirt and tie!  James is growing up so fast!

Jacob Bear

I love this little outfit,

but it is not very practical.  The zipper hurts, so I had to at least get a picture of Jacob in it, but that is as long as he wore it.  Here is another picture of Jacob in this outfit,

and James.

So cute!  Fun to compare the two.  I think James was a little older in the picture I took of him, but not by much.

Tummy Time

Jacob likes tummy time more than James did at this age, but I also have been better at doing it with Jacob than I was with James. 

That probably has something to do with it. 

Jacob is good with lifting his head.

He so wants to be mobile, and constantly tries to move, which normally results in him pushing his face into the floor.  I have a feeling he will master rolling and crawling much sooner than James did.  This is mostly due to the fact that he really wants to play with James.

Rolling, Kind Of

Jacob loves to grab his feet or pant leg and roll to the side.  Then he lets go and rolls to his back.  He does this over and over, which causes him to pivot in a circle.

So in the movie, we are watching the National Championship College Football Game.  Obviously I put this on here sooner than it actually happened, but oh well.  It still illustrates Jacob and his rolling.

More Rolling

New Year's

New Year's Eve was very uneventful at our house this year.  Jon worked 15 hours, and the boys and I were in bed before he got home.  I decided next year, whether Jon is here or not, James, Jacob, and I would have to do something fun to celebrate.  I did take the following pictures on New Year's Eve.  I came back from putting James to bed and Jacob had rolled on to his side.

As you can see, he was really mad that I had left him on the floor.

But this was a big moment in his quest to becoming mobile.  Now he rolls on his side all the time.  Any time he is laying on his back, he rolls back and forth to his side and ends up pivoting in a circle.

Camera Shy

Jon took these pictures the day we were trying to get a video of Jacob laughing. 

When Jacob saw the camera, he turned toward it and gave this face.

Jon and I were laugh really hard. 

It was probably more funny at the moment.

Jacob Talks

Jacob has been "talking" a ton lately.  I have a few videos of Jacob's jabber.  Since I can't pick just one, and I am sure the Grandmas will love them, I will post all of them.  Enjoy!

Not sure what we are watching in the background.  It was likely either Transformers or one of the X-Men Movies.

In the next few, the swing is really loud, and James is watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so you can here him occasionally.
