Tuesday, our truck came. We unloaded in 90 degree heat with 90 percent humidity. It was pretty miserable. It was the one of hottest day we have been here. It was really nice to have our bed to sleep on for the first time in three months.

Wednesday, we spent unpacking as much as we could and putting together and fixing our furniture. Our big long couch didn't fare too well. It was under everything. The board along the back broke, and since someone was in such a hurry to load things when we moved from Provo, the legs were left on and one broke off. We also had some minor tweaking to do on our table and our bedroom dresser got rather scratched up. The other dresser that has Jon's name written all over it was fine (he was really excited when he first learned to write his name). We also had a new computer desk, TV stand , sewing table and kitchen chairs from IKEA to put together.

Thursday, we headed to New York. We stopped at Niagara Falls. It was amazing! I couldn't believe how much water goes over those rocks! There are actually three water falls there: American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. Horseshoe Falls is the one most people know as Niagara Falls.

Mt. Rushmore:
This was our first stop in our move to Ohio. The drive across Wyoming was desolate. There were some interesting land formations, but there was not very much vegatation. It was nice to get the Mt. Rushmore where there are some trees.

After Mt. Rushmore, it was off to Ames, Iowa. We drove through Minnesota and then turned south. At about that point we entered a storm and followed it the rest of the way. It was pouring and hard to see anything. We slept late the next morning. Then we drove through Illinios to Valparaiso, Indiana. Driving through Chicago was pretty crazy, but not as bad as my parents thought. After another morning of sleeping in, we headed for Toledo. We drove through Michigan. Don't ever stop at the rest stops in Michigan. They are discusting!!!! We came into Toledo at about 4 on Saturday, July 28.

Jon' White Coat Ceremony

Jon's white coat ceremony was very boring. Worse than a graduation. For about two hours they present scholarships to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. They told about each scholarship and why they pick who they did. I was glad a 2nd year had recommended I bring a book. It made it go much fast to be in the world of "Harry Potter". After that Jon's class was "cloaked" in their white coats and they had to sign the pledge of ethics. So now Jon has officially started his training to be a doctor.
