Nemo

James has started putting things on the computer desk. One day we were playing with Nemo. Here is a video.

Mittens

Wednesday, Jon went back to work in the ER, but his remaining shifts there were a little better. Most nights he was home before James went to bed.

For a few days in a row, James would bring me his mittens and want me to put them on his hands.

He would then play with them on for a while before he would pull them off.

It was really funny!

Tuesday, we went up to Michigan for a temple trip.  Jon watched James while I did a session.  The Carters also came to do a session with me.  We stopped for dinner in Ann Arbor at Panda Express (Food Court on the north Campus of the University of Michigan). 

We made it to the temple with enough time for me to feed James his dinner before the session started, but the church next to the temple was not open.  So Jon planned to take James to Toys R Us (which is not far from the temple) to play for a little while.  As Jon was leaving, someone came and unlocked the church, so Jon and James stayed at the church, which James was happier about.

It was great to be able to do a session.  I got some answers I was seeking and was able to feel the Spirit really strong.  We are hoping to be able to get a babysitter and go together in March.  We will see.

Valentine's Again and New Toys

Sunday night, we finished our Valentine's celebration. We had some chocolate fondue.

It was really good. We used Swiss chocolate in our fondue. Yum!!

Monday, we shopped until we dropped. Thanks Carters for taking us to Sam's Club! We bought a laptop and a bunch of other computer accessories.We decided we needed a laptop so Jon could stay in touch with his family while he is in Norwalk, Ohio doing a rural rotation (AHEC).

We got a web cam for our desktop too. That night the grandmas enjoyed getting to see James as he ate dinner, played, and get ready for bed. Here is a picture of James playing in his jammies.

NOTE: I started this post last week and am just now getting it done, but I am going to work on some more today. I am trying hard to get caught up.

Tiffin, Ohio

Bright and early Sunday morning, we went to the Tiffin Branch Conference.  James did not sleep much the night before, so we were all tired.  James was very wiggly.  There were no young men, so Jon took James for the second half of the meetings.  I am very grateful.  I normally have James when we go to other units. 

After, they had a linger longer, which meant they also fed the stake leaders!  Thanks Tiffin Branch!  You are awesome!  James slept the whole way home.

Super Saturday

I am going to try and get all caught up today on the blog.  I have a bunch of posts to get on here.  They will look like they were posted on different days, but they will be done today and tomorrow.

This last weekend was great!  Jon had four days off!  It almost made up for him not getting Valentines' Day or Presidents' Day off.

Saturday, Jon's first day off, we had a stake youth activity, Super Saturday.  It is basically a mini- EFY for those who know what that is.  Before the activity, we had a meeting with some of the youth to get their ideas for Youth Conference this year.  We will be going to Kirtland at the end of June.  We got a rough outline done of what will happen during the three day of Youth Conference.  It should be a lot of fun if we can get everything together.

The activity started with games (as requested by the youth). 

Each unit brought a few games.  The youth pick a table and played for about 20 minutes. 

Then they switched tables.  They seemed to really enjoy it.  The game that appeared the most was Apples to Apples.  There were three.

Then, some of the bishops/branch presidents and President Beck spoke to the youth.  They were not given a topic.  Just what ever they felt inspired to speak about.  James would not let me sit in the chapel to listen, and most of the speakers chose to walk around with out a microphone, so the leaders sitting in the foyer did not get to hear anything.  Oh well, it was for the youth, and I heard only good things about it.

Next was dinner.  We had lasagna, salad, and breadsticks (all Olive Garden style).  It was really good.  I know some of the leaders were upset that we did not plan them into it.  We did, but not they way they thought we should.  It was for the youth, and we wanted the youth at a table with one of the bishops/branch presidents or a stake leader during dinner.  Then we had a table set up on the side for the leaders (I sat there too).  There was tons of food.  We even had a nonmember who asked one of the branch presidents how they can get baptized and if they could get a Book of Mormon!  I would say that alone makes it a successful activity.

The night was ended with a dance. 

We did not stay long after the dance started because James does not like how loud the music plays.

BYU vs. Air Force

I know this football game happened a while ago.  I did hear about this then, but I was just sent this video in an email.  It is nice to see that there is some good sportsmanship out there.

Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday, since Jon finally had a day off. We had our normal Valentine Dinner. Fruit, cheese, and a baguette.

We had pears and apples with extra sharp cheddar, seriously sharp cheddar (a new favorite), and fontina cheeses. To drink, we had IBC Black Cherry soda. We were going to do some chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows and pretzels for dessert, but we were too full. James ate with us.

Then we just relaxed the rest of the day and watched the Olympics (mostly curling). It was a great day!

This weekend Jon has 4 days off in a row! Looking forward to that!

Packages

Yesterday, we woke up to this! 

Love it!

The day ended with two packages!  Thanks for all the great presents, Grandma Brower and Marquis Family!  James loved what he got!

Vanimal-tine's Day

Saturday, we went to the zoo to see the animals get valentines.  It was a fun day!  Her are a few pictures from the day.

There are buttons to push and the sound of that toad or frog starts playing when you push it.
