Happy Birthday, SCARLET!

Meijer Gardens

I checked out a membership for Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park from the library.  There a certain memberships that can be checked out at the library once a year.  It is awesome!  We went last Saturday.  It was a little cold but we still had fun.  There was a greenhouse set up with lots of yellows and whites.  The apples in the flowerbeds were a little weird, but it was an artistic garden.

I like this greenhouse too.  There were little tropical birds flying around.

James and I sent a lot of time in here exploring the same trails while we wait for everyone else to catch up.

 James loved this little door into the Children's Garden.  It was just his size.

Love the Fall color.

There were giant pumpkins and scarecrows all over too.

The water you see in the next few pictures is a representation on the Great Lakes. 

The states are even etched into the ground. And there are facts written on the edges of the water.

James of coarse loved to play in the water even though it was really cold.

There are some videos of James playing in the next post.  We will definitely have to go back and see more at other times of year.

Great Lakes

James loved playing in the water.  The bad part was that it was really cold the day we were there.

He did not want to leave either.  So he had to carry him screaming out of the gardens, but the way the volunteers were so helpful made me think they see that a lot.

Toddler In The Backseat

It's Autumn Time!

There was this tree in our neighbor's backyard that was a really bright yellow for a day.  The next day all the leaves fell into our backyard.  Grandmas and James have had a few fun filled days out playing in the leaves.  The next post has some videos.  Here are the pictures.

Blandford Nature Center

We were invited to the Blandford Nature Center on October 11th.  Sadly, we got there as the others were leaving, but it was still fun to explore a little. 

We will definitely have to go back again.  Too bad it is rainy today!

Bath Time

Well, after bath time.  Jacob's hair always looks more awesome right after the bath.  It gets curly/wavy and redder.  This picture is hard to see.


But this picture is better.

Still it looks so much more curly and red in person.

John Ball Zoo

We went to the zoo a while ago (on the 4th).  There were not a lot of animals out, but there are lots of fun things to do.  It was fun to meet the Harris family there and let the kids play.  Enjoy the pictures.

Jacob got hungry while we were there, so we fed him in the Frog house.  It is not a very big building, but was warmer than outside.  It was hard to get James to want to leave, but the proper "negotiating" tool normally works wonders.

Car Seat

James loves to climb into Jacob's car seat.  I have to hide it most of the time, because I do not want it to become a habit.  Here are both my boys in the car seat.

Jacob was not happy.  In this picture, you can see why.

Notice Jacob trying to eat his blanket and Grandma's hand?  He was hungry.  Do not worry.  He was fed right after the picture was taken.

James

Here are a few random Pictures of James from September.  Please ignore all the mosquito bites on his face.  Who would have thought the mosquitoes would be out in such force at the end of September?  James loves our new couch.

I cannot blame him.  It is an awesome couch!  With a chase on both sides!  James got a fun toy in his Happy Meal one night.

Neglect

Oh, blog, how I have neglected you!  Well, I have a ton of pictures I want to get posted here, and a few stories (if I remember them now).  Hopefully, I will get a lot of it done today.  Let's face it, if not today it will likely be another long while before I get back.

Two Weeks

Jacob was two weeks old on Sunday, but he had his doctor's appointment yesterday.  The doctor said he looks good.  He is now 9 pounds 12 ounces.  He gained about pound and a half in ten days!  He also grew an inch (now 22.5 inches).  He is a great eater.  Here he is with Grandma Brower.

Big Brother

James loves his little brother (except when Mommy is paying more attention to Jacob).  Anytime Jacob makes a noise, James is right there telling him it is okay.

He even sits next to the "baby's bed" and reads to him.

Garfield Comic books seem to be the favorite right now.  James also likes to hold Jacob.

He never wants to give the baby back.  James is a great big brother!
