"Doctors"

James really loves his dart gun that Robby gave him for his last birthday.  For a long time he called the darts, "doctors."  I have no idea why.  He just did.  Now he knows that they are darts, but occasionally will still call them, "doctors."  I had the dart gun out for him to play with the other day (I have to put it up high because he likes to chew on the darts and sometimes eat pieces of them), and he realized that he could stick them to him forehead.

Just so you know, no on shot the dart at him.  He did stick it to his forehead by himself.

Soup Anyone?

James has been "cooking" a lot lately.  He loves to get dishes out of the kitchen and make things.  Here are some pictures of him making "Alphabet Soup." 

He will even take these spoons to bed with him most nights.

Lids

James has recently discovered the lids to my pots and pans.  I am surprised he has not discovered them sooner.  He loves to pretend he is cooking with them.  He will bring Jon and I one of the lids (each) and say. Mommy's plate, "  and, "Daddy's plate."  Then he will get another and say, "James plate."  Here are a few pictures.

Notice James's outfit. 

He chose it.  I do not know what it is about Thursdays, but the last few weeks on Thursday James insists that we need to go to church that day, and he needs to wear his church clothes.  Normally when this occurs on Thursdays, I can convince him otherwise, but yesterday all I could do was get him to pick a different button shirt and a tie.  He wore the tie all day.  I also like that his pinkie is sticking out while he eats in the above picture.  So refined!

When You Read You Begin With ABC.

James loves reading.  It probably has a little to do with the immense love he has for letters and numbers.  Here are two videos of him reading two of his favorite books about Cars the movie.  The first is kind of a Where is Waldo type.  Sadly when I got the camera he was almost done with it, but I did get a little.

He will point to the picture on the left and say what it is.  Then he says where is whatever it is.  Then he points at it in the picture and says there it is and repeats what it is.  It is really cute.  He does it on all the pages.

This one is him reading a Golden Back Book for Cars.  He likes to point out and name the cars. 

I hope he will always love to read.

Walk This Way

A few days ago, James was crawling/walking around the house like this.  When I got the camera out he stopped, but I caught a little on video.

In the video he is saying stretch, because when he first started he was just staying in one place on his hands and feet.  I asked him if he was stretching.  Then he repeated that has he moved around the house.

Another War Craft Party

A few weeks ago, Jon went to another War Craft Party hosted by Steve.  There were more wives there this time.  Jenni, Robby, Chelsea, Molly, Kari, James and I decided to go to the park since it was a beautiful morning.  We walked over and the kids enjoyed playing on the toys there.  We even went down by the river and James threw his first rocks into a river.  His Grandma Brower would be so proud.  When we headed back to the Tollers, the only way I could get James to walk toward their house and not back to the water was to have him hold hands with Robby and walk with him. 

It was really cute! 

They are such good buddies.

One funny thing Jon told me about while we were at the park, we had been gone for about an hour, when someone asked where the wives and kids went.  Jon was the only one who knew.  We had said numerous times before leaving that we were headed to the park.  That is just how into their video games they can get.  Good thing Jon paid attention.

After the Zoo

When we left the zoo, we went to the park and eat lunch while James and Robby played on the toys. It was a fun afternoon, and James never wanted to leave. He did finally overcome his fear of slides again. Jon and I also got sunburned for the first time this year.
